The Elephant Metaphor
We choose the elephant to represent West Chester Play Therapy because we see our guiding principles expressed perfectly in the elephant....
But when you just look at part of the elephant the toes are pretty icky.
Elephants are powerful, majestic, beautiful and gentle.
The skin is rough and scaly and the eyes are dark and gloomy.
the the tail and back side are covered in wiry hairs and is almost wretched.
At West Chester Play Therapy, we believe the same is true when looking at a person or a couple or a family... If you get too close and only see one aspect, it can easily look icky. But when you look at the whole, every individual, couple and family is powerful, majestic, beautiful and gentle.
